Keystone Woodturners May Meeting

Keystone Woodturners

Keystone Woodturners is a chapter of the American Association of Woodturners. We share the purpose of providing education and information to those interested in woodturning. The Club was founded in 1996 and has grown to over 70 members. We meet monthly on the third Wednesday of the month. Check out the other tabs on this website for examples of what we and our members have been doing and for other information about the Club.

May meeting – May 18, 2016 at 7:00 PM

Meeting agenda:

Welcome Bob Zrebiec – President

Show and Tell

Show and Tell is the part of the program where our members get to show off their work. They bring in turnings they have completed or are working on and discuss design, techniques, materials, finishing, etc. There is always something to learn at these sessions and you will be amazed and inspired by what our members make.  However, this month there will be no show and tell because of the wood auction

Wood Action

A group of four vases and bowls on display.

In lieu of a demonstration this month we will be having our annual Wood Auction. This once a year event is a great chance to procure wood for a fun Summer of turning. Members donate wood that they would otherwise hate to part with and tools that they no longer use and the items are auctioned off by our esteemed auctioneer Joe McCann. Members and Guests can bid on the items.

Raffle

Our raffle will not be held this month to give us more time for the Wood Auction.

Location

We meet at Joe McCann’s shop  His shop is located behind his house at:

                            387 Hallman Mill Road
                            Phoenixville 19460.

Parking there is very limited, so Joe has arranged for us to park behind the Seven Stars Inn on Route 23 (263 Hoffecker Rd, Phoenixville, PA)  which is a short drive from Joe’s. Once at the Inn parking area, get with other members and guests and car pool to Joe’s. To assure you make the meeting on a timely basis, try to arrive at the Inn by 6:45 PM. If you run into problems, call Joe at (610-331-2372).

Visitors are welcome, so if you have an interest in woodturning, come on out to our next meeting and check us out! If you come, bring a folding chair. If you have any questions, please contact:
