JANUARY MEETING CANCELLATION
Although the snow storm wasn't as bad as expected, it was bad enough that we will be unable to clear the snow from all of the parking areas at Joe McCann's shop in time for the meeting. Accordingly, in the interest of safety, the rescheduled meeting is being cancelled. Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, February 18. This site will be updated with the Program details by the end of the month.
Demo – Turning a Natural Edge Bowl – Tom Buchner
This months demo will feature Tom Buchner of Lehigh Valley Woodturners. Tom will demonstrate how to turn a Natural Edge Bowl. His demo will feature wood selection and techniques to get a nicely balanced rim as well as turning and finishing tips.
Show and Tell
Vice President’s Top Challenge – All Club Members were challenged to turn and decorate a top in November. The completed tops will be shown at the January Meeting. They will be of many designs and enhanced with chatter work, burned lines, colored bands, etc.
Our regular Show and Tell will also be held where members bring in turnings they have completed or are working on and discuss design, techniques, materials, finishing, etc. There is always something to learn at these sessions and you will be amazed and inspired by what our members make!
We will have a Raffle at which Club members bring in tools they no longer need and wood they haven't got around to turning and donate them to the Club. The Club sells raffle tickets ($1 each, 6 for $ 5). The winner of each draw gets their choice of an item in the raffle and the next ticket is drawn and the process repeated until all items are gone. You don't have to be a Club member to participate in the raffle.
Dues – Club dues for 2015 are being collected by our Treasurer. Dues will continue to be $ 20.
We meet at Joe McCann's shop (610-331-2372)
His shop is located behind his house at:
387 Hallman Mill Road
Visitors are welcome, so if you have an interest in woodturning, come on out to our next meeting and check us out! If you come, bring a folding chair. If you have any questions, please reply to this email or contact:
