March Meeting

Keystone Woodturners

Keystone Woodturners is a chapter of the American Association of Woodturners. We share the purpose of providing education and information to those interested in woodturning. The Club was founded in 1996 and has grown to over 70 members. We meet monthly on the third Wednesday of the month. Check out the other tabs on this website for examples of what we and our members have been doing and for other information about the Club.

March meeting has been rescheduled to March 22, 2017 at 7:00PM due to weather.

Meeting agenda:

Welcome Bob Zrebiec – President

Show and Tell

Show and Tell is the part of the program where our members get to show off their work. They bring in turnings they have completed or are working on and discuss design, techniques, materials, finishing, etc. There is always something to learn at these sessions and you will be amazed and inspired by what our members make.

Demonstration by Mike Kuterbach“Turning a three sided bowl”

Mike is a long-time member of Keystone Woodturners.   He has served the chapter in many capacities; his current responsibility is videographer.  Mike will also be demonstrating at the Tylersport Carving and Turning Fair on March 10-12, 2017.  Last year at Tylersport Mike won first place in the turning competition.

Giving back to the community projects

Beads of Courage lidded boxes to be donated to  A.I. DuPont Childrens Hospital.
Through the Beads of Courage campaign, children receive a unique bead to represent each procedure or treatment. For example, a red bead for each blood transfusion, a yellow bead for each night in the hospital, a star bead for surgery, a white bead for chemotherapy. Their collection of beads becomes a tangible record of their journey. Each wood-turned box will be used to hold a sick child’s precious beads.  We’ve collected 23 lidded boxed to be delivered to A.I.DuPont Childrens Hospital in March

A group of four vases and bowls on display.
