November 2014 Meeting

Keystone’s next meeting will be November 19th at Joe McCann’s shop.

Featured Demo – Mike Kuterbach – Bowl Turning

This months demo will be by Mike Kuterbach, Club Member and Vice President of Keystone Woodturners. Mike will demonstrate how to go from a log to a finished bowl. He will show how to cut a bowl blank out of a log; how to mount it on a chuck, and how to rough turn the bowl. He will address how to dry the bowl before final turning. He will show how to remount a dried bowl, how to finish turn it, and how to finish the bottom.

Our meeting will feature a “Show and Tell Session” where members bring in turnings they completed or are working on and discuss design, techniques, materials, finishing, etc. There is always something to learn at these sessions and you would be amazed and inspired by what our members make!

We will also have a Raffle in which Club members bring in tools they no longer need and wood they haven’t got around to turning and donate them to the Club. The Club sells raffle tickets ($1 each, 6 for $5). The winner of each draw gets their choice of an item in the raffle and the next ticket is drawn and the process repeated until all items are gone. You don’t have to be a Club member to participate in the Raffle.

At Keystone Woodturners we have turners of all levels including beginners, intermediate, advanced and some of the best turners in Pennsylvania.

We meet at the shop of one of our members, Joe McCann. (610-331-2372)
His shop is located behind his house at:
387 Hallman Mill Road
Phoenixville 19460.
